These Terms govern all orders and purchases from The Grove Cake Co. (sole trader: Pamela John), trading as The Grove Cake Co. By placing an order you agree to these Terms.


1. Information about me

2. Orders and contract  

  • All orders are subject to acceptance by me. A contract forms only when I send you an order confirmation (usually by email). 
  • I reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order (e.g. due to stock, pricing error, or suspected fraud).  
  • Product images and descriptions are illustrative. Actual cakes may vary slightly due to handmade nature.

3. Pricing and payment

  • Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are quoted for separately.  
  • Payment is due in full at time of order via bank transfer or cash.  
  • I am not responsible for payment processor fees or currency conversion.

4. Delivery / Collection

  • Collection: cakes must be collected at the agreed date/time from 3 Byron Avenue, Grove, Wantage, OX12 0RF, United Kingdom. I am not liable for quality issues if not collected promptly.  
  • Delivery: to UK mainland addresses only. Delivery dates are estimates — I am not liable for delays caused by couriers or events beyond my control.  
  • You must provide accurate delivery details. Redelivery/replacement may incur extra charges.

5. Allergens and food safety 

  • All products are made in a home kitchen that handles common allergens (e.g. nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs). Full ingredient and allergen information is provided on request.  
  • It is your responsibility to check suitability for allergies/dietary requirements. I cannot guarantee nut-free or allergen-free products.

6. Cancellations, refunds and changes

  • Orders for custom/bespoke cakes are non-refundable once confirmed and production has started (usually 48 hours after order).  
  • Standard products: cancellations more than 7 days before collection/delivery may receive a full refund minus any non-recoverable costs.  
  • No refunds for change of mind after collection/delivery.  
  • Faulty/incorrect items: contact me within 24 hours with photos. I will offer replacement, refund or credit at my discretion.

7. Liability

  • Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death/personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter that cannot legally be excluded.  
  • My total liability is limited to the price paid for the product(s).  
  • I am not liable for indirect losses (e.g. loss of enjoyment, business interruption).

8. Events outside my control  

I am not liable for delays/failures due to events beyond reasonable control (force majeure).

9. General

  • These Terms are governed by English law. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.  
  • If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains in force.  
  • I may update these Terms — the version on the website at the time of order applies.
